What is a result card?

A result card (report card or progress report) is a one-page record of a student’s exam marks. It lists each subject with total and obtained marks, then shows the overall total, percentage, grade, pass or fail, position, attendance and remarks, signed by the class teacher and the principal.

How do I make a result card?

Fill in the school, exam and student details, then add each subject with its total and obtained marks; the result card is ready to print or download as PDF.

The total, percentage, grade and pass / fail are calculated automatically, so there are no calculator mistakes. Your school details stay saved on your device, so for the next student you only change the name and marks.

How is percentage and grade calculated on a result card?

Percentage = obtained marks ÷ total marks × 100. The grade comes from the grading scale; by default 80% and above is A+, 70% is A, 60% is B, 50% is C, 40% is D and below 40% is F.

Example: 412 out of 500 = 82.4%, which is grade A+. You can change the grading scale and the passing percentage to match your school or board policy. A student also fails if any single subject is below the passing marks.

70% – 79%APass
60% – 69%BPass
50% – 59%CPass

What should a school result card include?

A good result card shows school details, exam name and session, student details, subject-wise marks, the overall result and signatures.

  • School name, logo and address
  • Exam name (Mid-term, Annual, Monthly Test) and session, e.g. 2026–27
  • Student name, father name, class, section and roll number
  • Each subject with total marks and obtained marks
  • Grand total, percentage, grade, pass / fail and position in class
  • Attendance (days present out of total days) and teacher’s remarks
  • Signature lines for the class teacher and the principal

Can I make a result card in Urdu?

Yes. Switch the labels to Urdu or bilingual (English + اردو); subject names can be typed in Urdu too.

How is a madrasa result card different?

A madrasa result card usually lists Quran subjects such as Hifz, Nazra and Tajweed alongside other subjects. Choose the madrasa style to get these subjects added for you.

The madrasa template uses a simple, respectful layout and the same automatic total, percentage and grade, so it works for Hifz classes, Darja exams and academy tests.

How to use this result card tool

  1. 1Pick a design. Choose Classic, Modern, Board (black & white) or Madrasa (adds Hifz, Nazra and Tajweed), and your school colour.

Frequently asked questions

Is this result card maker free?

Yes. It is free, with no login and no sign-up. Make as many result cards as you need.

Is student data saved on your servers?

No. Marks and names never leave your browser. The form is saved only on your own device so you do not lose work on refresh.

What grading scale does it use?

By default A+ is 80% and above, A 70%, B 60%, C 50%, D 40% and F below 40%. You can edit every grade boundary and the passing percentage.

Can I change the subjects?

Yes. Rename, add or remove subjects and set different total marks for each one, for example 100 for English and 50 for Drawing.

Is there a madrasa result card format?

Yes. The madrasa style adds Hifz, Nazra and Tajweed as subjects and uses a layout suited to madaris.

Can I show the student’s position in class?

Yes. Type the position (1st, 2nd, 3rd…) and it appears on the card next to the grade.

How do I make result cards for a whole class?

Paste the student names (one per line), then type the marks or paste them straight from Excel. Positions are worked out from the percentages, and “All cards (PDF)” gives one PDF with every student on its own page — or press Print all.

Which result card designs are there?

Four: Classic (framed, in your school colour), Modern (coloured header band), Board (black and white, saves printer ink) and Madrasa (Bismillah with Hifz, Nazra and Tajweed).
