What is a monthly attendance sheet?
A monthly attendance sheet is a one-page register for a class. Student names run down the left, every date of the month runs across the top, and the teacher marks P (present), A (absent) or L (leave) each day. Totals of present and absent days are written at the end of the month.

How do I make an attendance sheet for my class?
Enter the school and class, choose the month and the weekly holiday, paste the student names and print. The dates and day letters are filled in for you.
The sheet is A4 landscape so all 28–31 days fit on one page. Up to 40 students fit on a sheet; add blank rows if new admissions are expected. Your names stay saved on this device, so next month you only change the month.
What should a school attendance register include?
School name, class and section, month and year, the class teacher’s name, a row for each student, a column for each date and totals.
- Serial number and student name for each row
- Every date of the month with the day letter (M, T, W…)
- The weekly holiday (Sunday, or Friday for madaris) shaded
- Present (P) and Absent (A) totals for each student
- Number of working days in the month
- Signature lines for the class teacher and the principal
How do I calculate attendance percentage?
Attendance % = days present ÷ working days × 100. A student present 22 days out of 25 working days has 88% attendance.
Many schools ask for at least 75% attendance before a student can sit the annual exam, so the monthly totals matter.
Can I make an attendance register for a madrasa?
Yes. Choose Friday as the weekly holiday and the Friday columns are shaded instead of Sunday.
